A row of allium flowers sweeps across a clear glass base, each bloom rendered in a different colour of the spectrum — green, yellow, orange, red, pink and blue. The flower heads are built up using layers of frit (crushed glass) in mixed grades, giving them an expressive, textural quality that catches the light beautifully. Slender stems are drawn in enamel paint, curving gently as though caught in a breeze. Scattered frit across the base adds a sense of movement and space. The fired surface is glossy and luminous, with light lifting colour from within the glass. Presented in a frame, this piece works well in a living room, hallway or kitchen.
