A wide meadow scene rendered in fused glass, this piece captures a sprawling wildflower landscape in a long, narrow format. Fine and medium frit (crushed glass) in soft greens build the grassy foreground, while enamel paints draw the delicate stems beneath a scatter of tiny round flower heads in red, orange, green and blue, each one formed from individual pieces of frit. A wash of pale sky blue stretches across the upper portion, giving the composition a feeling of open air and space. The glossy, fire-polished surface catches the light beautifully, adding depth to the layered colours. Mounted in a frame, this piece works well in a hallway, living room or kitchen.
